Joining SSA

Under Article I of its By-Laws, the Severn Sailing Association seeks as members those persons who desire:

• To promote, foster, encourage, and sponsor one design sailing, sailing races, and activities connected with sailing on the Severn River;
• To promote and encourage local participation in regional and national sailing activities;
• To cooperate with and participate in the activities of the various connunity organizationa and civic associations dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the Severn River area;
• To promote the preservation and observances of of the "Rules of the Road," yachting customs, and courtesies; and;
• To conduct social occasions for sailors and advocates of sailing.

Instructions to apply for membership

You will need to complete an application and submit it to the Membership Committee at SSA. To complete the application, you will need to do the following:

• Request an application by emailing Nan Walker.
• Complete the Personal Background about yourself on the application.
• Determine the type of membership you desire.
• Determine if you meet the criteria for that membership (e.g., own a sailboat in one of the sanctioned fleets at SSA.)
• Determine your interests for membership.
