Annapolis ICers!
What can I say - an unexpectedly sweet day of sailing yesterday! It looked as if it was going to get ugly, but as soon as we got out on the water, the wind and seas subsided. We sailed 8 races with seven very tactical "no-gybe" courses. Positions often changed on the short beat, and the reaches were fun in the stiff breeze. John Potter set a superb course and belted out the races like clockwork. Jervis, probably wishing he was sailing, helped out running a crash boat.
The team of Falsone & Jones won the day, winning 4 of the first 5 races. Nelson & Stout were consistently inconsistent, but scored two wins to place second. The Plines sailed well to place third. Alex has updated the web page with the results.
The wind actually lightened up over the day, so those that left or didn't come at all really missed out on one of the best days of the year. We still have 5 scheduled race days left, and it looks as though we will have 5 qualifying days for the series. Its going to be mild from here on out, so come sailing and qualify for the series.
In the news...
Nationals coming up April 19-20, still no official NOR though. Lets try and get a good turnout from our fleet. I'll have the number of the race organizer so you can try and arrange housing.
New boats to be built in September. Anyone interested can contact me for details.
Dock space - please use spaces closest to ramp. I'll enforce this next Sunday.
RC - Sign up if you have not already.
