High Point Scoring

  1. Qualifying Days - 60% of days sailed or 50% + 1 day (e.g. 9 days sailed ---> 5 days to qualify.
  2. Drop Day - your're worst qualifying day is dropped
  3. High Point Scoring - 2 points for finishing plus one point for every boat you beat. 1 point in each race for participation on that day (i.e. PMS, DNS, WDR, DNF all get 1 point as long as you sail at least one race for the day).
  4. Total Daily Points = (# Boats + 1) * # Races
  5. Individual Points = sum of individual points for each race
  6. Individual % = Individual Points / Total Daily Points
  7. Overall Scoring - For boats qualifying for series, drop the day with the lowest daily %, or if a % tie exists, the day with the most total daily points. Calculate new overall % by summing the total individual points for each day and dividing by the sum of the total daily points for each day. Sort finishes by overall %.
  8. People doing RC/SB will recieve sailing credit for that day. Although RC/SB credit will be given if you decide not to sail and to do RC/SB, ad hoc duty days DO NOT count as your offical duty day; you must sign up. RC/SB day scores will be the average daily % for the best 50% of days actually sailed. Therefore, someone that did RC still must have sailed 50% of the days, but will qualify with 50% + RC day. So, participation is rewarded by requiring 60% to qualify and by the establishment of the +1 daily point system. Races days are weighted by the number of races sailed and the nember of boats sailing.
  9. Overall scoring is based on winning percentage.
