TESOD – 5/18 Come Out Come Out Where Ever You Are…

The race course had the same # of boats, but the fleets are starting to emerge and starting to look but still not feel (temps still in 50’s) like TESOD.

The rainy skies cleared again in time for the first gun to make for another great night of sailing in Northerly 12-20 knots of breeze. The puffs off the Navy seawall and tide switch made for good tactics on starting line, upwind and downwind.

The SSA Board of Governors was strong with Commodore Luke Shingledecker as PRO and Hal Whitacre with consistent strong finishes in the Laser class. Other Laser sailors in the news were Meredith Dodd sailing full rig giving the boys a run, Joe Hidalgo back in a Laser after 20 years, and Ali Meller topping the SSA participants at the Laser Master Nationals regatta finishing in impressive 9th. Bob Tan placed 4th in the Radial rig with women sailors Margaret Podlich 12th and newcomer to the event, Dorian Haldeman close behind in 15th. The after sailing social was a buzz with photo slide shows, stories, et al from the Laser Masters National Regatta. NOW that all the Lasers are back on the lot, temps are anticipated to increase EVERYONE needs to come OUT SAILING.
