TESOD Weekly Racing Reports - May 27, 2008

IT'S BACK!... It finally seems like the good ol' TESOD days are back with 30 boats making it out to the starting line - except that there were no Lasers OCS's.

Thanks to Dorian Haldeman and Bruce Artman for running the Aquasport and Jaquan Smith (one of Nan's Box of Rain kids) helping to set marks. We need a PRO team for next week so contact the office if you are interested (RC gets dinner and a drink!)

The shifty 6-12 knot wind made for interesting auto tack tactics, but the boats that found the puffs moved up the fleets quickly.

The women Laser sailors, Morgan Wilson and Kim Couranz gave the boys a lickin' in the first race and stayed in the leaders pack for the rest of the night. The junior Laser coach, Mark Dunsworth is also back in town giving the 'seasoned' members good competition. One Laser sailor, Gavin O'Hare even used the psychology effect of washing his hull between races - how cold is that water!

The V15 family teams of Ian & Leah Burman, Bryan & Kristen Baker, Matt & Lori Schubert and Stan Smith & his daughter made for exciting finishes as well. Also, the Stout family, Alex and Lorie vying against Henry Filter and crew Wilson Stout made for colorful comments at the finish line.
